# How we review codes

Before you copy a code from Stars Coupons, you should know three things: what it gives, who can use it and how recently we looked at it. This page explains how we get there.

## Sources

Our codes come mainly from stores' official affiliate programmes and the networks that run them, plus offers the stores publish themselves. Codes from unknown or unverifiable sources are not listed.

## The “Tested” label

A code carries this label in one of two situations:

- **We tried it:** the code was applied on the store's website or app and the discount or cashback showed up.
- **The store confirmed it:** the store or its affiliate programme confirmed the code and its conditions to us.

Beside the label you will see **the date of our last review**. A code we have not reviewed yet is shown without the label.

## When a code ends

A code with an end date is removed from the site automatically once that date passes. Codes without an end date are reviewed regularly, and their review date moves forward each time.

## Store details

The shipping, returns, payment and pay-later information in our store guides is taken from each store's official pages and help centre, and every fact shows its source and the date we checked it. Stores update their policies, so when our page and the store's checkout disagree, follow the checkout.

## A code was refused. What now?

- Read its conditions again: many codes are limited to new shoppers or to certain sections.
- Remove any other code or promotion already applied to the same order.
- Use another code from the store's page, if one is listed.
